The event took place in Bonn, Germany, on January 20-21th, 2020
The i-CONSENT team participated last week in a workshop organised by the NewHorrizon project. The event was aimed at exploring strategies to encourage collaboration between investigators and society. The i-CONSENT team presented a summary of planned and previously organised activities to involve citizens’ perspective in designing informed consent for clinical trials.
One of the main New Horrizon project activities is the organisation of the so called Social Labs. These activities consist of events gathering experts from different sections of H2020 initiatives to define the social challenges at stake and develop experiments to overcome them.
For this reason, the i-CONSENT team didn’t want to miss the opportunity to share with its counterparts in other EU countries their efforts in bringing science closer to society.
Some if them being the organisation of the design thinking sessions with adults, children and pregnant woman, our workshops with experts from different fields or nominal groups.
This Social lab was specifically dedicated to the following purposes:
- Share experiences and work on pilot actions.
- Construct narratives about RRI in SwafS and in Horizon 2020 in a reflection and evaluation process.
- Anchor the pilot actions in the participants’ organisations and beyond.
NewHorrizon focuses in integrating Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) in the research and innovation systems.
