i-CONSENT will participate in this year’s edition to introduce the subject of informed consent in clinical studies

The LUMSA University participates for the fourth consecutive year in the European Researchers’ Night to bring researchers and their work close to citizens of all ages and students. The offices of the LUMSA University in Rome and Palermo will open their doors to share a program of multidisciplinary activities on Friday 27 September 2019.

The event will open with a presentation of the i-CONSENT project, coordinated by Prof. Laura Palazzani. Together with her collaborators from Lumsa University (Margherita Daverio and Mirko Garasic) and from Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù (Sally Jackson), she will explain what informed consent is in the field of medical care. Moreover, they will simulate situations and difficulties related to the request and upon the release of this authorization.

European Researchers’ Nights are public events that happen simultaneously in many countries. They are dedicated to showcase the diversity of research and highlight the impact of research on society’s daily lives. The aim is also to motivate young people to embark on research careers. The events promote how researchers contribute to our society by displaying their work in an interactive and engaging forum.

From 2018-2019, 55 projects where implemented in 371 cities across Europe and beyond. During the 2018 Night, over 1.5 million of visitors attended!
